Terms and Conditions

The terms that apply when you use our service.

These terms and conditions apply to Mattonouto services. The service provider is:

By using our service you accept these terms.

What we do

Mattonouto is a carpet pickup, cleaning and delivery service in the Helsinki metropolitan area. The service includes:

  • Pickup of carpets from the address you provide
  • Professional carpet cleaning using eco-friendly products
  • Return of clean carpets to an agreed address
  • Pickup days: Monday–Saturday
  • Delivery time: approximately 3–5 business days from pickup

We currently serve Helsinki, Espoo and Vantaa. The service area may expand; check our website for current coverage.

Booking and confirmation

You can book via the booking system on our website (Cal.com), WhatsApp or phone. Your booking is confirmed only when you have received a written confirmation to your email.

The confirmation message includes:

  • Agreed pickup date and time
  • Pickup address
  • Pricing basis
  • Instructions for preparing your carpets

Check the confirmation as soon as you receive it. Contact us immediately if anything is incorrect.

Pricing and payment

The price depends on the number, size and material of your carpets. Current pricing is available at mattonouto.fi/en/pricing.

The price is confirmed at booking or after pickup, once the cleaning requirement has been assessed. You will be informed of the price before cleaning begins if the final price differs from the estimate.

Payment is by invoice after the service has been delivered. Invoices are sent by email. Payment terms are 14 days from the invoice date. Late payments incur interest in accordance with Finnish interest rate legislation.

Mattonouto does not charge hidden fees. What is stated in your confirmation is what you pay.

Cancellation and rescheduling

Free cancellation or rescheduling: You can cancel or reschedule at no charge at least 24 hours before the agreed pickup time.

Late cancellation: If cancellation occurs less than 24 hours before pickup and we cannot complete the collection, we may charge a handling fee. You will always be informed of this in advance.

Situations where no charge applies:

  • Illness or sudden emergency (please notify us as soon as possible)
  • A technical issue on our side that prevents pickup

Your responsibilities as a customer

To ensure the service runs smoothly, we ask you to:

  • Make sure the carpets are available at the agreed pickup time
  • Provide the correct number and size of carpets when booking
  • Tell us about any special materials or stains in advance (e.g. hand-knotted rug, pet stains)
  • Ensure our pickup driver can access the property (door unlocked, gate open, etc.)
  • Inform us of any transport challenges in advance (narrow stairwell, no lift, etc.)

Additional costs arising from incorrect or incomplete information may be charged to the customer.

Carpet handling and liability

We handle your carpets with care. All carpets are inspected at pickup and at delivery.

If your carpet is damaged during cleaning or transport, we will:

  • Notify you immediately
  • Investigate the cause of the damage
  • Compensate you if the damage was caused by our negligence

We are not liable for damage resulting from:

  • Pre-existing damage to the carpet (that was not known to us)
  • Processing contrary to the manufacturer's care instructions, which were not communicated to us
  • Normal wear or colour changes during washing (e.g. in very old or faded carpets)

For valuable or antique rugs, we recommend informing us of the carpet's particular value before placing an order.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with the result or your carpet has been damaged:

  1. Contact us within 14 days of carpet delivery.
  2. Describe the problem clearly and attach a photo if possible.
  3. Send your complaint to matto@mattonouto.fi.

We aim to resolve all complaints within 5 business days. If we cannot reach an agreement, you may refer the matter to the Consumer Disputes Board (www.kuluttajariita.fi).

Limitation of liability

Mattonouto's liability is always limited to a maximum of the amount paid for the service in question, unless otherwise required by mandatory legislation.

We are not liable for indirect damages, loss of profit or damages resulting from causes beyond our control (natural disasters, strikes or other force majeure events).

Consumer customers' rights under Finnish consumer protection legislation always apply regardless of these terms.

Changes to these terms

Mattonouto reserves the right to update these terms. Changes will be announced on our website. Updated terms take effect on the date of publication. Bookings made before a change will be handled under the terms in force at the time of booking.

Governing law and dispute resolution

These terms are governed by Finnish law. Disputes will be resolved in the first instance through negotiation between the parties.

If no agreement can be reached, the matter may be referred to the Consumer Disputes Board (www.kuluttajariita.fi) or the District Court of Helsinki.
